After a stop during the summer, the Journal Club seminars are back. The next appointment is for Wednesday 25th October at 18:00 (CEST), when Spencer Klein, of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, will talk about ultra-peripheral collisions.

Abstract: Ultra-peripheral collisions are the energy frontier for photon-mediated interactions, reaching energies far higher than are accessible at HERA and fixed target experiments.  Thus, they are an invaluable probe of nucleon and nuclear structure.  In this talk, I will introduce the basics of ultra-peripheral collisions and then discuss their use in probing nucleon and nuclear structure."

Refence: (Proceedings of his talk at the Quark Matter 2017 Conference).
