Last year in May, Chunhui Zhang of the Utrecht University received his PhD in Physics defending a thesis on measurements with a high-granularity digital electromagnetic calorimeter, which contributed to the technology development for an ALICE forward calorimeter. In addition to this research carried out under the supervision of Thomas Peitzmann, he also took part in tests of detector prototypes.
At the beginning of this year, in January, Hongkai Wang completed his graduate studies at the Utrecht University and received his PhD in Physics. Under the supervision of Thomas Peitzmann, he developed a thesis in prototype studies and simulations for a forward Si-W calorimeter for the ALICE experiment and performed various detector prototypes tests.
The Collaboration congratulates the new doctors and wishes them all the best for their future career.
